Saved questions

Saved questions stay in your browser's local storage. They are not uploaded to an AskShuffle account or server. Removing a question updates that browser's collection. Clearing this site's browser data removes the entire collection.

Your answers

Selections in This or That are held in memory for your current visit. AskShuffle does not send your selections to analytics or publish vote counts. Copying a question writes that question to your clipboard at your request.

Website requests

Your browser sends standard request information, such as an IP address and user agent, to the hosting provider when loading a website. Providers may process that information to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Analytics

We use Umami Cloud to understand visits and use of features such as shuffling, copying, presenting, printing, and saving questions. A print event records opening the print window, not whether anything was printed.

Usage data includes page paths, referring pages, browser and device information, and approximate location. We exclude query strings and fragments from the page URLs sent to analytics.

Umami's standard web tracker uses no cookies. It processes IP addresses to estimate location and derive a rotating visitor identifier. IP addresses are not fields in its standard analytics records; Umami and its providers may handle them separately in infrastructure or security logs.

Our events contain an action name and where it happened in the interface. We do not send question text, answers, saved collections, names, or email addresses, and we do not assign our own visitor IDs. Visitor and return-visit counts are estimates.

Our Umami Cloud Hobby plan keeps analytics for up to six months. The tracker is configured to respect the browser's Do Not Track signal when available.

Advertising and fonts

This version has no advertising scripts. Fonts are served with the site rather than requested from a separate font service. This page will be updated if the site's data practices change.
